ALZO From across the room you note that he's nice looking, shy in demeanor ... you
approach and find the original impression confirmed. But there's something else, something
in the eyes ... something burning, quick, intense. And then you mention music ... shyness
gives way to animation and the soft voice takes on -the power of tremendous enthusiasm and
dedication. Alzo's life force is founded in his music. He is the beat, the sound, the
words; and the full vitality of life is reflected in his work.
Alzo Fronte embarked on a career in music at 14. Trained at the Julliard School of
Music, he plays drums, piano, percussive rhythym instruments, and guitar. Although Alzo's
tremendously creative nature led him to spend time in commercial art school, his early
decision to devote himself to music never wavered.
By the time he was 14, Alzo and a young neighbor, Udine had formed a duo and were hard
at work making the rounds of the record companies. A few years later, Alzo succeeded in
making the charts with a song penned and sung by him, "That's Alright I Don't Mind
It", his first taste of success.
For some time now Alzo has been working only as a single. He plays a twelve string
acoustic guitar and sings his own material. He likes a basic, unencum- bered sound
strongly influenced by jazz, rock and the soulful rhythms and strong melody line of
Brazilian music.
His first Bell Records album, titled "Alzo", points up the tremendous
versatility of Alzo's writing and performing talent. Alzo is that increasingly rare entity
in today's record market--an exciting and unique performer.
